The wedding photography industry abounds with photographers and the robotic proxies they dispatch to document your wedding. Helios does not subscribe to this school of grave facsimiles. We strive to be more patient, more observant and, most importantly, more inconspicuous - thus allowing each moment to develop organically. We believe that a decade of experience and our technical wherewithal set us apart. Without these qualities, much crowed-about “unique creative vision” remains someone's good intention.

Benny Moreno
As an ambitious Photography student at the College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul, Benny Moreno once entertained some lofty notions of shooting for National Geographic, but after his first wedding over a decade ago, he was hooked. "The beauty of wedding photography," according to Benny, "is the intimate and profound connection a wedding client has with the image - it's a connection that is impossible to establish with any other piece of art." In addition to photographing weddings, Benny enjoys dome hockey and a well-made bloody mary while golfing.

Steven Johnson
At 6’2, Steven Johnson is by far the tallest member of this Twin Cities based photography duo. Shooting from this vantage point enables him to create unique and flattering, “above-angled” portraits of people 6’1 and under without the burden of finding something to stand on. “I make light stands superfluous,” pronounces the Swede in a supernal Nordic bellow. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin Stout, Steve’s mastery of portraiture soon overqualified him for work with the Lifetouch Studio and he strode out to restore the ghost world at Stillwater’s Images of the Past. “A good photograph will tell you what you could expect from a conversation with its subjects over tiramisu.” Steve knows tiramisu and knows how to truss a hen. When not behind the camera, he tries his best not to be a liability for his ice hockey team.
